May Be VI will compete in La Trinité in June 2008 for the European Championships. The yacht will have a re-built two cockpit layout this summer. The original three-cockpit design showed its flaws especially in situtions when the yacht was sailed short-handed.
For the 2008 season it will carry a new mast designed by the German yacht designer Juliana Hempel. It is a wooden mast built by Red Sky Yachts of Kotka in Finland.
The design which calls for Alaskan Sitka Spruce, is a scaled-down version of the very succesfull one-spreader designs that has won so many races in the Eights. It is the first of its kind in Sixes.
New sails have been ordered from WB-Sails in Helsinki.
